Poori - பூரி

                 

               Poori

 

Ingredients:

Whole wheat flour - Atta flour 250 g
Butter or Ghee 100g
Salt to taste
Water
Oil for frying

Method:

Mix flour with salt and ghee or butter. Add water and mix the dough by hand.

Knead well and the dough should be soft and not sticky.

Leave covered for an hour for the dough to get softer.

Take a lime sized balls and flatten it to make a rounded thin discs of 10 cm diameter.

Fry in hot oil. After about a minute, turn over and cook further until golden brown.

The dough may puff up.

Drain and remove when cooked.

Serve with: potato curry or meat curry
