Fish Paththia curry

 

Ingredients:

Fish 500 Gms - small fish is preferred for this
Onions 1 large
Charakku powder 2 tablespoons
Garlic 6 cloves
Green chillies 2
Tamarind paste 1 teaspoons
Coconut milk 1 cups
Salt to taste

Method:

Clean the fish free of scales, fins and gut.

If you had bought small fish, just cut the head and save the rest, but if it is a big fish then cut into slices of ¾ inch thick disposing the head.

Grind the onions, green chillies, tamarind paste, and garlic and charakku powder with little water into a smooth paste.

In a pan place the paste, salt and the fish pieces, coconut milk and shake the pan gently to mix all.

Heat the pan and when the milk is boiling reduce the heat and let it simmer until fish is cooked and the gravy has thickened.

Serve with: Rice
